Neck pain chiropractor in Kingswood, Mitcham
Desk necks, slept-funny necks and necks that have been quietly complaining for years. We look at how your neck, shoulders and posture work together before deciding what to do about it.

The neck pain we see most often in Kingswood
A lot of the neck pain that walks through our door on Belair Road belongs to people who spend their working day at a screen. The rest tends to arrive after a knock, a bad night on an unfamiliar pillow, or years of carrying tension in the same place.
- Tightness across the tops of the shoulders that never quite lets go
- Turning your head to reverse the car and finding it does not go as far one way
- A headache that starts at the base of the skull and creeps forward
- Pins and needles or heaviness running into the arm or hand
- Waking with a locked neck for no reason you can name
Why we look below the neck as well
Your head weighs about five kilograms and your neck holds it up all day. When something further down shifts, the neck is usually what compensates. That is why we assess how your whole frame stacks up rather than working only where you feel it.
Your history
When it started, what you were doing, how you sleep, how your day is set up, and what you have already tried.
Movement and muscle testing
How far your neck turns and tilts, how your shoulders sit, and how the muscles around them respond.
Digital postural assessment
A record of how your head sits over your shoulders, which gives us something concrete to measure change against.
X-rays if warranted
Available on site when the history or examination points that way. We explain why before we take them.
Results vary between individuals, and chiropractic care is not appropriate for everyone. Some neck pain needs urgent medical attention, and we will tell you plainly if that is what we see.
How chiropractic care might help your neck pain
Your head weighs about five kilograms, and your neck holds it up all day.
Chiropractic adjustments give your nervous system new information to respond to. When a segment of the spine is not moving as it should, that creates interference in the communication between your brain and your body, and the neck is a common place for it to show up.
Many people find their neck moves more freely and copes better with a long day once care is underway. We track that with objective measures rather than asking you to guess, so digital postural assessment gets repeated as your care continues.
Our main technique is Advanced BioStructural Correction (ABC™), which works from head to toe following a consistent protocol. We also use diversified adjusting, applied kinesiology and SOT alongside it where they suit. Depends on your body!
Neck pain questions
Is cracking my own neck a problem?
It is common and it usually brings a few seconds of relief, which is why people keep doing it. It tends to move the joints that already move easily rather than the ones that are stuck. Worth mentioning when you come in so we know the habit is there.
My neck pain comes with headaches. Is that related?
Often, yes. The upper neck and the base of the skull share a lot of wiring with the structures involved in headaches. We have more on this on our headaches page.
Will the adjustment involve a sudden twist of my neck?
Not necessarily. Our main technique works through a structured protocol that includes gentler approaches, and we explain what we are about to do before we do it. If you are uneasy about something, say so and we will find another way.
How long before I notice a change?
Some people notice something after a visit or two, others take longer, and it depends a great deal on how long the neck has been coping the way it has. We will give you an honest estimate after the assessment rather than a number up front.
