What ongoing care looks like

One of the things we value most is informed decision making. This page covers what happens after your report of findings, why care runs in cycles, and what is worth doing between visits.

Why care runs in a rhythm

Think about how easily you wake at a similar time each day, often before the alarm. That is not willpower, it is your nervous system responding to consistency.

Chiropractic care works the same way. Adjustments delivered in a rhythm your nervous system recognises let each visit build on the one before it, rather than starting from scratch every time. Booking a similar time each week is the simplest way to get that.

The comparison people find useful is the gym. One session feels good. It is the regular practice that builds strength and capacity over months.

The four stages of care

Care here moves through four stages. Where you start and how quickly you move depends on you, what your body has been managing and how long it has been managing it.

01

Recover

Create breathing room. Reduce overwhelm and give your nervous system the opportunity to settle.

02

Reset

Release old patterns. Build stability and consistency so your body has a stronger foundation to work from.

03

Rebuild

Integrate change. Support your nervous system as it develops new patterns that are stronger, more sustainable and better suited to your life.

04

Revitalise

Express life. Increase adaptability, resilience and your capacity to do more of what matters most.

Results vary between individuals, and chiropractic care is not appropriate for everyone. Nobody moves through these stages on a fixed timetable, and we reassess as we go rather than holding you to a plan that is no longer right.

Between visits

What you do in the days between visits matters as much as the adjustment itself. We keep home care realistic, because a short routine you will actually do beats a long one you abandon by the third week.

You will get specifics for your situation at your report of findings. These are the ones that come up most.

01

Posture pole

A few minutes lying over a posture pole gives your upper back a different position to spend time in than the one your desk asks for.

02

Move more often

Standing up every half hour does more for a stiff back than one long stretch at the end of the day.

03

Sit, stand and sleep

How you set up your chair, your screen and your pillow matters more than most people expect. We will give you specifics for your situation.

04

Water

Unglamorous, and it still comes up in almost every conversation about how someone is feeling between visits.

A few things worth knowing

Small things, done consistently, do more than big things done once.

  • Take a few deep breaths before your adjustment. A body that is braced is harder to work with than one that has settled.
  • A short walk afterwards helps. The back streets around Belair Road are good for it.
  • Drink water on the day of a visit.
  • Tell us what changed, including when nothing did. That is useful information, not a complaint.
  • If something feels different or you are unsure about anything, ring us rather than waiting for your next visit.

What happens at your first visit covers the earlier part of the process, and the FAQ answers the questions we hear most often.

Same time next week?

Booking a consistent slot is the easiest way to give your body a rhythm. Grab yours online, or ring the crew and they will find one that fits around your week.
